Mich. high school team ends 66-game losing streak
TAYLOR, Mich. >> The Railsplitters have derailed a demoralizing losing streak.
Lincoln Park’s football team ended a 66-game skid Friday night during a game against Taylor Kennedy, another suburban Detroit prep rival.
The 34-20 win in Taylor breaks the state’s longest losing run. Lincoln Park hadn’t won a game since 2006.
Coach Jamie Grignon told reporters his team was focused and “wasn’t going to be denied.”
Junior running back Jordan Geha rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He says he wanted to win for the departing seniors.
The Downriver area team is now 1-and-5, but senior De’Shawn Tillman says “it’s a new season.”
