This composite satellite image shows a weather system moving past Oahu that brought some cloudiness and isolated showers this morning and afternoon.

Expect cooler north winds to start blowing starting Sunday and trade winds to begin returning early this week, National Weather Service forecasters say.

A weather system that’s kept winds light and brought some isolated morning and afternoon showers to Sunday is moving east, past Oahu.

As the system leaves, winds will become northerly and temperatures in Honolulu are forecast to drop into the 60s — between 62 and 69 degrees — tonight.

Light trade winds will begin to return Monday and Tuesday and the usual trade wind weather should be back by Wednesday.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Another weather system is approaching that could bring Kona winds from the southeast and muggy conditions by the end of the week. Forecasters say the southeast winds could bring vog over the islands through the weekend.
