Trades expected back by midweek, Kona weather to follow
Despite Sunday night’s cool, comfortable sleeping weather, Hawaii residents can expect warmer weather today with trade winds expected to return around the middle of the week, National Weather Service forecasters say.
Light and variable winds are forecast for the islands today with a high of 86 degrees for Honolulu, forecasters say. A high pressure system tracking north of the state will bring with it northeasterly trades around the middle of the week, but Kona winds are expected to take over this weekend.
Clouds and light showers are expected to dampen the islands later today, with skies clearing tonight.
