Prosecutors have charged a 62-year-old homeless man who allegedly burglarized Monday a Kahala home as a woman arrived home.

Alvin Umiamaka was charged with first-degree burglary Tuesday. His bail was set at $50,000.

Police said the woman arrived home at 3:05 p.m. Monday to find a man inside her house.

The woman found her home had been broken into and items were stolen.

The man fled as the woman called police. Responding officers found Umiamaka nearby and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
