Kona weather bringing vog, humidity and then rain
Kona winds are bringing humid and hazy weather to the islands through Friday and an increased chance of rain starting Wednesday.
The southerly winds are blowing volcanic emissions from the Big Island over the other islands. The warm, moist air and light winds are also creating afternoon cloudiness and the chance of showers created by daytime heating.
Despite the southerly winds, forecasters say the atmosphere is relatively dry and stable. But that will change Wednesday when a persistent weather system that brought heavy rain earlier this month and showers last week is drawn back over the state.
The front will bring an increased chance of rain Wednesday and Thursday, forecasters said.
Trade winds should return Friday bringing an end to the Kona weather conditions.
