Shark warning signs removed from North Shore’s Laniakea Beach
Ocean Safety officials removed shark warning signs at Laniakea Beach on Oahu’s North Shore this afternoon several hours after an “aggressive shark” was spotted.
Shayne Enright, Ocean Safety spokeswoman, said an 8-foot shark was seen jumping out of the water around 10:30 a.m.
The signs were removed about 1:30 p.m. after lifeguards on a personal watercraft checked the area and did not see any sharks, Enright said.
