The sale of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and its affiliates to Denver-based Air Methods Corp., has closed.

Founded in Hawaii in 1985, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters offers a dozen scheduled aerial tours of five Hawaiian islands using 24 helicopters.

The company generated $47 million in revenue for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2012.

The sale of Blue Hawaiian to Air Methods was previously reported in November.

Air Methods’ key business is airborne medical transportation, but other operations include the design and manufacturing division called United Rotocraft, and its Tourism Division, now comprising Sundance Helicopters Inc. and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, both offering aerial tours and charter flights in different markets.
