Hawaii island police respond to bank robbery

A Hawaii island man was arrested today for allegedly robbing the Central Pacific Bank on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo Wednesday at 1:42 p.m.

The suspect is Lelome Kahaualoa Rogers, 61, who has no permanent address. Police officers found Rogers on Aupuni Street at 2:05 p.m.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Rogers is in police custody pending investigation.
