The media toured the Space Shuttle Exhibit at the National Museum of the United States Air Force on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio. The $1.7 million mock-up of a space shuttle was built for the museum after it was unable to secure one of NASA’s three existing space shuttle orbiters after NASA retired the program. The exhibit opened Wednesday.

‘Downton’ exhibit may set mark

WILMINGTON, Del. » Officials at the Winterthur Museum in Dela­ware say an upcoming exhibit of costumes from the hit British television drama "Downton Abbey" could turn out to be the most popular in the history of the former du Pont family country estate.

The exhibit, which runs through January 2015, offers visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the period fashions that are a focal point of the television show and a comparison of country house life in Britain and the United States.

Winterthur director David Roselle said Wednesday that based on advance ticket sales, he expects attendance for the exhibit to be the largest in Winterthur history.

Tiny Berlin, Md., named ‘coolest’

BERLIN, Md. » Berlin has been named "America’s Coolest Small Town" in a nationwide contest.

Budget Travel gave the small Maryland town top honors Tuesday. Berlin beat out 14 other small towns in online voting since January. Nearly 138,000 votes were cast. Berlin received 39,000 votes.

Cazenovia, N.Y., came in second, followed by Buckhannon, W.Va., Travelers Rest, S.C., and Mathews, Va. Berlin was the backdrop for the films "Tuck Everlasting" and "The Runaway Bride."
