A 16-year-old girl died Thursday after a scooter crash on the Likelike Highway onramp to the H-3 freeway, police said.
Police said the teen lost control of the green Vespa scooter she was driving, hit a guardrail and was taken in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, where she later died, police said.
Honolulu police closed the Likelike Highway onramp to the H-3 freeway in the town-bound direction after the accident and reopened the lanes before 11 a.m.
The crash happened about 8:35 a.m., police said.
