Honolulu resident Wilma Uyeno, left, and her friend Yaeko Takita discovered the Hawaiian Pancake Factory at the newly opened Aeon Mall in Waka­yama, Japan. The travelers stopped at the mall for a snack before embarking on an hourlong drive to Osaka on April 6. Aeon, the largest retailer in Japan, was founded in 1911 and opened its newest mall in Waka­yama on March 16.
