The 2014 BMW i3 is the best so-called “green” car among the top 10 chosen by editors at automotive publication Kelley Blue Book.
KBB.com editors each year compile a list of the most efficient vehicles available and choose 10 outstanding models featuring a variety of price ranges and powertrain options.
The BMW i3 is all-electric, but also is offered in a gasoline-assisted version, and has what KBB.com calls an ultra-light carbon-fiber body, which helps the car get maximum range from its battery pack.
Models listed from No. 2 through 10 are: Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius, Honda Accord Hybrid and at No. 5, the Tesla Model S.
The Chevrolet Volt is at No. 6, while the Ford C-Max Hybrid, Honda Civic CNG, Lexus ES 300h and at No. 10, the Volkswagen Jetta TDI, round out the list.
