California general contractor opens Honolulu office

Webcor Builders has expanded its California-based operations to Honolulu.

Among the largest general contractors in California with offices in San Francisco, Alameda, Los Angeles and San Diego, Webcor has opened a local office at 1003 Bishop Street in the Pauahi Tower.

The office will serve as a hub as the company develops Pacific Rim operations, according to a company statement.

Webcor Vice President Dave Zarubin, a former Maui and Oahu resident, leads the Hawaii office.

“Based on our success throughout California, we decided in 2014 to expand our business geographically,” said Jes Pedersen, Webcor president and CEO, in a statement.

“Selecting Hawaii made perfect sense for us for a number of reasons … the active high-rise apartment and condominium development, our experience as the leading multi-family residential builder on the West Coast, as well as our structural concrete expertise make Hawaii an extremely promising market for us,” he said.
