Firefighters rescue hiker who fell 30 feet from Nuuanu trail
Fire personnel rescued an injured hiker who fell 30 feet at Lulumahu Falls in Nuuanu on Thursday night.
The Fire Department received a call at 7:16 p.m. from two men in their 20s who had hiked the Nuuanu Pali Trail, fire spokesman David Jenkins said.
Fire rescue personnel hiked to the men at the falls. They stabilized the injured man, placed him on a backboard and carried him out — a 45-minute hike.
He was then transferred to Emergency Medical Services personnel who took him to a hospital at 9:29 p.m.
