A composite satellite image taken around 6 p.m. Monday shows an area of heavy rains hanging over central and leeward Oahu.

Although an earlier flash flood advisory for Oahu has been canceled, the National Weather Service posted a new flood advisory for Kauai due to heavy rains in windward and coastal areas.

The advisory is set to expire at 11:30 p.m.

Weather radar showed heavy rains from Kilauea to Wailua to Lihue and Poipu, weather officials said. A rain gauge in Kapahi measured an inch of rain in 30 minutes.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Moloaa, Anahola, Wailua, Kapaa, Kapahi and Hanamaulu.

The muggy Kona weather will likely continue Tuesday, with tradewinds returning Tuesday night.
