Girl who drowned at Pokai Bay is identified
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 11-year-old Wahiawa girl who drowned at Pokai Bay on Sunday as Gloria Eram.
Her 9-year-old sister remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Beachgoers found the younger girl in shallow water just before noon at Pokai Bay Beach Park.
She was taken to the hospital in serious, but stable condition, according to an Emergency Medical Services spokeswoman.
Paramedics used a public address system in their vehicle to locate the girl’s father.
Gloria Eram was spotted, submerged in the water, about a half hour later in the same area.

Beachgoers, including off-duty firefighters performed CPR until lifeguards, ambulance and on-duty firefighters returned to the scene.
Ambulance crews took her in extremely critical condition to the hospital, where she later died.
