Man charged with abuse in attack on woman
Police have charged a 54-year-old Kalihi man accused of attacking a 54-year-old woman on Tuesday.
The victim told police that Wes Silva held her against her will, sexually assaulted her and choked her.
Silva, a registered sex offender, was located in the downtown area on Thursday morning and arrested.
Prosecutors declined to pursue kidnapping and sexual assault charges. On Friday, Silva was charged with a single count of abuse. His bail was set at $2,000.
