A 71-year-old man who was critically injured when he fell beneath a city bus in Waikiki on Saturday afternoon has died.

The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family, but he had a Waikiki address.

According to police, the man was attempting to board the bus through a side door and fell down when the bus pulled away from the curb.

The bus apparently ran over the man’s legs, police said.

He was transported to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he later died.

This was the second bus-related pedestrian fatality in three days.
