Police blocked off Dillingham Boulevard Thursday morning after a watermain break. This is a view from the traffic camera at Dilingham Boulevard and Waiakamilo Road.

Dillingham Boulevard  between Kalihi and Mokauea streets reopened overnight after repaired a broken water main  and repaved the road Thursday.

The Board of Water Supply said the break in an 8-inch main happened at 1827 Dillingham Boulevard at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

Service was restored to about 12 customers at about 6 p.m.

The pipe break closed all lanes of Dillingham during the morning commute. The makai lanes were opened for contraflow until the afternoon, when all lanes were closed again as crews repaired the road.

Dillingham Boulevard reopened to all traffic at about midnight, the Board of Water Supply said.

The cast iron main was originally installed in 1938.
