California man killed in Haleiwa motorcycle crash
Police said speed and alcohol may be factors in a motorcycle crash that killed a 33-year-old California man near the Weed Circle junction in Haleiwa early Saturday morning.
The man lost control of his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle while turning onto Kamehameha Highway from the Weed Circle junction at about 12:40 a.m., police said.
The motorcycle collided with a guard rail and the man was ejected over the guardrail into some bushes.
He sustained major head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
Police closed Kamehameha Highway while Traffic Division officers investigated the crash scene.
