Police caught a man escaped from the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Monday.

Jared Denault, 36, was arrested at 1:23 p.m. on Ward Avenue near Queen Street.  He was reported missing doing a regular security check at 1:25 a.m.

Denault was finishing a sentence for firearms violations and had a parole hearing scheduled in September.

Still missing is Eric Pixley, 49, who was discovered missing at a 1:30 a.m. headcount Saturday.

Pixley was serving time for a probation violation.

He is described as 5 feet 8 inches, with brown hair and brown eyes, weighing 170 pounds.

Both inmates could face criminal escape charges when they are recaptured.

How the inmates escaped is under investigation.

Laumaka is a minimum security work furlough center for community custody inmates.  It is located a block away from the Oahu Community Correctional Center.

Inmates assigned to Laumaka are either actively seeking employment or working in the community.
