Maui firefighters rescue stranded 23-year-old windsurfer
Maui firefighters Thursday afternoon rescued a 12-year-old boy from Japan, who was windsurfing at Kaa Point.
The boy was kite surfing 100 yards offshore at Kanaha Beach Park when he lost his sail at about 4:40 p.m., Maui fire official said.
Firefighters used a fire ski rescue watercraft to bring the boy to shore. He was met by his mother and did not need medical attention.
