Police have charged a 47-year-old Salt Lake man with kidnapping and assaulting a 45-year-old woman.

According to police, Talbot Bailey prevented the woman from leaving their Ala Nioi Place residence and struck her numerous times over a nine-hour period on Sept. 2. The woman sustained substantial bodily injury, police said.

Police located Bailey at the Queen’s Medical Center on Friday and arrested him. 

Bailey was charged Sunday with second-degree assault, kidnapping and abuse of a family or household member (strangulation). His aggregate bail was set at $150,000.
