Police seeking help to locate Waikiki robbery suspect

    The incident took place on Monday, Sept. 8 on Kalia Road around 6 p.m.

Police are asking the public to help find a man, possibly in his 20s, who robbed an elderly mainland visitor who wanted to rent a moped in Waikiki.

Police said the robbery, classified as first degree, took place 6 p.m. Sept. 8 on Kalia Road.

The suspect met the elderly man, shook his hand, then knocked him over, grabbed money out of his pockets and fled on foot.

The man is described as 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build, and spiked, short, dirty blond hair. He was wearing black surf shorts with white plaid design, white sunglasses and large round earrings.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone.
