A man was shot in the chest apparently with a BB gun at a Kailua sports bar Thursday night.

Emergency Medical Services said paramedics treated a man in his 50s or 60s for an apparent gunshot wound to the upper part of the chest.

He was taken to a hospital in serious condition after the 7 p.m. shooting at The Shack.

The Shack manager said the victim was a customer seated in the patio area when someone driving by on Hele Street fired a BB gun.

Police are investigating, but no information was available at press time.
