Oahu flood advisory cancelled

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the island of Oahu until 630 p.m. HST.

The National Weather Service has cancelled a flood advisory for Oahu at 6:30 p.m. Monday after heavy rain fell near Mililani.

“At 3:24 p.m., radar showed heavy rain near Mililani, or about 13 miles northwest of Honolulu. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary,” the advisory said.

Frecasters said the advisory includes, but is not limited to, Kaena Point, Dillingham Field, Makua Valley, Whitmore Village, Waianae, Waialua, Wahiawa, Schofield Barracks, Pupukea, Mokuleia, Mililani town, Makaha, Makaha Valley and Haleiwa. 

The public is advised to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding, and to not cross fast-flowing or rising water in a vehicle or on foot.
