Maui under flood advisory
The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Maui until 5:30 p.m. as heavy rain fell south of Kahului.
“At 3:18 p.m., radar showed heavy rain near Ulupalakua, or about 17 miles south of Kahului. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary,” the advisory said.
Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Keokea, forecasters said.
The weather service, on Thursday afternoon, also canceled its high surf advisory for southern shores of all islands.
