This image taken Friday shows a breakout of pahoehoe lava.

Lava advanced another 150 yards downslope toward Puna since Sunday, Hawaii County Civil Defense reported Monday morning.

Since the flow resumed its advance on Wednesday, it has advanced about 590 yards, but is not an immediate threat to homes and no evacuations have been ordered.

The narrow flow front is moving along a tree line and the burning is producing a significant amount of smoke, but there is no brush fire threat at this time and the burning is limited to the edges of the flow.

The burning combined with light winds is producting moderate to heavy smoke conditions across lower Puna to Hilo.
