Paraglider injured in hard landing on rocks in Makapuu area
Fire crews assisted a 29-year-old man who was injured while paragliding Wednesday afternoon in the Makapuu area.
Fire Capt. David Jenkins said responding firefighters treated the man who suffered a broken right leg and broken left ankle. Emergency Medical Services said the paraglider sustained injuries after a hard landing on the rocks near “Baby Makapuu” off Kalanianaole Highway.
Paramedics treated and transported the man to a hospital in serious condition with leg and ankle injuries.
The Fire Department got the call at 2:45 p.m. and firefighters were on scene at 2:57 p.m.
