Public gets more options to comment on Kakaako

The Hawaii Community Development Authority is creating a way for the public to comment on proposed Kakaako developments this weekend and on a weeknight next week.

The agency says this will supplement weekday public hearings on development permit applications.

A court reporter will record the comments, which will be forwarded to the agency.

The meetings will be held 10 a.m. Saturday and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Both will be at the agency’s office on Cooke Street in Honolulu.

Howard Hughes Corp. is applying to build condominiums and a park at the current site of Ward Warehouse. Howard Hughes also wants to build condominiums and retail stores where Nordstrom Rack was previously located.

Kamehameha Schools is applying to build condominiums on Ala Moana Boulevard where a car dealership is currently.
