High surf advisory for north shores extended

The National Weather Service has extended a high-surf advisory for the north shores of Oahu, Niihau, Kauai, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii island effective until noon Tuesday.

A north-northwest swell is expected produce surf of 14 to 18 feet on Monday and 10 to 15 feet Tuesday morning.

The weather service warns ocean-goers to be aware of strong-breaking waves, shore break and strong currents that can make swimming dangerous.
