Hawaii County firefighters are resuming their search Sunday morning for a missing hiker in Waipio Valley.

According to the fire department, a call came in around 4:49 p.m. Saturday for a missing 22-year-old woman who was separated from her group at Hiilawe Falls about 20-30 minutes into the hike.

Rescue crews searched the area from Waipio Valley Road to Hiilawe Falls but the search was suspended due to darkness.

The other hikers that were part of the group are safe and accounted for, fire officials said.
