A 33-year-old woman is in custody awaiting a court appearance on Monday after she was charged with assaulting a woman in Kakaako.

Angel Kaahanui, of no local address, was charged Friday with second-degree assault. She remained at the main police station Sunday, unable to post $20,000 bail. 

Police said Kaahanui used a dangerous instrument to injure a 44-year-old woman’s right eye during an argument shortly after midnight on Dec. 21.

Kaahanui was arrested Friday at Olomehani and Ohe streets in Kakaako.
