2 burned, 1 critically, in isle New Year’s Eve celebrations
Two people have been injured in separate New Year’s Eve festivities on Oahu.
A 44-year-old man was critically injured in the face by fireworks, according to Honolulu Emergency Services.
The incident occurred on Kuhi Street in the Waialua area at 8:45 p. m. Wednesday.
He was treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital.
In a separate incident, a boy suffered serious injury when he was apparently burned on the leg by a bonfire at Hoopuni Drive in Kailua. Paramedics treated the child about 8:30 p.m.
