A 91-year-old man was in critical condition Saturday night after he was struck by a car on Young Street.
Police said a 23-year-old man driving a Ford Escape in the Diamond Head-direction hit the pedestrian just after Kaheka Street at 6:33 p.m.
It was not clear if the pedestrian, who was heading makai, was in a nearby crosswalk.
Police said the driver stopped to help, and the pedestrian was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
