Hawaii Kai resident Airman 1st Class Gabriel Carias endured eight weeks of basic training sequestered at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and celebrated graduation Oct. 3 by satisfying his craving for a plate lunch at L & L Hawaiian Grill — in San Antonio. It was a treat for the Mid-Pacific Institute alumnus, who was in the AFB 320th Training Squadron and graduated with honors.
