Prosecutors charged a 56-year-old homeless man with second-degree murder and first-degree terroristic threatening Thursday night in the fatal stabbing of woman at Tracks Beach in Nanakuli.

Fred Silva III was being held on $250,000 bail pending an initial court appearance Friday.

Silva is accused of stabbing a 44-year-old woman during an argument at about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The medical examine identified the victim as Calvine Nakatani, who is also believed to be homeless.

Nakatani died of stab wounds to the torso, the medical examiner said. The case is classified as a homicide.

Paramedics treated Nakatani for stab wounds to her upper body and took her in serious condition to the hospital about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, where she died.

Officers arrested Silva after witnesses at the beach identified him as the suspect, police said.
