Ocean Safety rescued a 37-year-old woman at Makaha Beach Sunday afternoon after she collided with another surfer and was held underwater for a short period of time, officials said.
Around 1 p.m., lifeguards rescued the woman and brought her to shore. EMS took over treatment and transported her to the hospital in serious condition.
