Furlough inmates Brandon Medeiros and Andrew Kaoihana returned to Oahu Community Correctional Center Friday after failing to return Tuesday.

Medeiros is serving time for second-degree assault, second-degree robbery and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. He faces an additional escape charge after he failed to return from a day pass Tuesday. Medeiros’ next parole hearing is scheduled for March.

Laumaka Work Furlough Center staff notified Sheriffs and HPD when Kaoihana didn’t return from work as scheduled at 1 a.m. Wednesday. HPD informed them that he had been taken into custody for a burglary.

Kaoihana is serving time for second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and promoting a dangerous drug in the second degree. His next parole hearing is scheduled for May.
