Kalihi water main break fixed but motorists advised to avoid area
Water service was restored to 20 customers near North King and Kohou streets Wednesday night, but the Board of Water Supply advised motorists to avoid the area as crews repaved King Street after an 8-inch main break at 1101 N. King St.
Board of Water Supply officials said all Koko Head-bound lanes and an Ewa-bound lane were closed while the road was being repaired. Traffic was being contraflowed.
A spokeswoman said the water agency was notified of the break at 8:18 a.m., and officials reported that the water main break was fixed about 9 p.m.
