9 evacuated from Palolo house fire

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 1320 7th Avenue in Palolo.

Nine people including two children were evacuated from a two-story house in the Palolo area, after a fire started in a second-story home office Monday.

The fire at 1320 7th Ave. was under control 15 minutes after firefighters received the initial alarm at 4:32 p.m., fire spokesman Capt. David Jenkins said.

Jenkins said fire officials were investigating the cause of the fire and the amount of damage to the house.

He said damage was restricted to the home office.

Jenkins said the nine people were staying with their relatives and none of them suffered major injuries. A female suffered minor injuries while she was evacuating the home, he said.
