UH’s Li’ili’i named Big West player of the week

University of Hawaii senior Leisha Li’ili’i earned the season’s final Big West softball Field Player of the Week award on Monday after hitting .778 in her farewell series with the Rainbow Wahine.

Li’ili’i went 7-for-9 with a double and two home runs and drove in seven of UH’s 30 runs in a three-game sweep of UC Davis. She homered in both games of last Friday’s doubleheader to raise her career total to 49 and finished third in program history. Her 155 RBIs also ranks third on UH’s career list.

She closed the season as UH’s second leading hitter at .325 and topped the lineup with 11 home runs and 37 runs batted in. She hit a team-best .400 with five homers — both figures good for third in the conference — and drove in 16 runs in Big West play for the Wahine (32-22, 13-8).
