Man reports intruder injured him at home on two separate days

A 38-year-old Kailua man who reported to police on Tuesday that a masked intruder attacked him in his Enchanted Lake home, reported that the same thing happened on Friday.

The man, a firefighter, told police he discovered a masked intruder in his Kahili Street home about 12:55 p.m. Friday. He said he struggled with the intruder who injured him with an unknown object. He told police the intruder then fled on foot.

On Tuesday, the firefighter told police he found a masked intruder in his home when he returned from work about 8:30 a.m. He told police he confronted the intruder who injured him with an unknown object then fled on foot.

Honolulu police described the firefighter’s injury as a superficial puncture wound that was not life-threatening.

Based on what the firefighter told them, police classified the Tuesday case as an attempted murder and the Friday case as a robbery. They have not identified or arrested any suspects.
