Suspect arrested in stabbing, fire at Kalihi apartment

A 36-year-old woman is in police custody in connection with a stabbing and fire Wednesday night in a Kalihi apartment.

Officers arrested the woman at 10:10 p.m. on Pio Place, near the scene of the stabbing at 1531 Kamehameha IV Road, on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, arson and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Paramedics took a 57-year-old woman to the hospital in serious condition following the stabbing at 9:45 p.m., Emergency Medical Services reported.

Police said the two woman know each other, but did not release any other details.

Police also said a 48-year-old man received minor wounds during the fight.

Smoke was reporting coming from the unit when firefighters responded to a  report of a fire and an assault, the fire department reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
