Police investigate mysterious kidnapping, assault case
Homicide detectives opened a kidnapping, assault and missing person case after family members reported not seeing a 54-year-old man for more than a month.
Witnesses told police that two men, ages 38 and 44, hit the victim on the head and drove off with him on April 6 from Haleiwa.
The family members said the last time they saw the victim was a day earlier.
Police refused to release other details, including the identities of the victim and suspects.
