Woman sought for failing to return to youth correctional facility

Maui police are asking the public to be on the lookout for an 18-year-old Wailuku woman who failed to return to the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility on Oahu and is believed to be on Maui.

Maui police said Paula Kahue-Miranda left the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility in Kailua 10:30 a.m. May 7 on an approved day pass, and was suppposed to return by 5:30 p.m. that day.

Maui police say Kahue-Miranda is believed to have traveled to Maui and is known to frequent the Wailuku area.

She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Maui police at 244-6400, 911 if it is an emergency or officer Rusty Iokia of the Maui Police Department’s Juvenile division at 630-9729.
