A small brush fire in Kapolei closed a portion of the H-1 freeway Sunday morning.
Honolulu police shut down two town-bound lanes of the freeway at 9:45 a.m. near the North-South Road offramp. The lanes were reopened around 12:45 p.m.
Photos posted to social media sites showed heavy smoke and flames along the edge of the highway. Traffic cameras showed eastbound traffic backing up past the Campbell Industrial Park exit.
