Fire personnel rescued a 16-year-old girl who was injured Tuesday afternoon while hiking at the 13 Koko Crater Blowhole Trail, aka Koko Crater Arch Trail.

Capt. David Jenkins said the girl was holding onto a rock, which got loose, and fell on her.

Firefighters got the call at 3:28 p.m., arrived at 3:42 p.m. and got to the patient’s side at 3:59 p.m.

The hiker was a half hour into the trail above the arch when she was injured, Jenkins said.

Firefighters transferred care to Emergency Medical Services, which reported the girl was in stable condition after the 3:41 p.m. incident, and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
