Police arrested a 48-year-old Kaneohe man at his home for allegedly repeatedly punching a woman Thursday morning, resulting in serious injury.
Police said the man allegedly placed the woman in a headlock-type hold and allegedly punched her several times with his free hand.
The woman sustained a deep cut to the back of her head after she fell.
The alleged assault occurred at 10:01 a.m. in Kaneohe.
Police arrested the man at 10:50 a.m. at his home on suspicion of second-degree assault.
He was released at 1:50 p.m. pending investigation.
