A Honolulu Police Department officer was charged Saturday with several drug offenses in connection with a police raid at a McCully home.

Alan Ahn, 54, a 10-year veteran of the police force, was charged with third-degree promoting a dangerous drug, second-degree promoting a harmful drug, and two counts of third-degree promoting a harmful drug.

He was charged about 5 a.m. and was released about three hours later after posting $40,000 bail, police said.

Ahn was arrested at 7 a.m. Thursday after narcotics/vice officers raided a home on Waiola Street, police said.

A police spokeswoman said in a statement that Ahn and a 28-year-old women were arrested at the home where the couple lived.

The spokeswoman said Ahn was already on restricted duty because of an earlier incident.

She didn’t elaborate on the earlier incident, but Ahn had been arrested in July for investigation of abuse.

The prosecutor’s office said the abuse investigation was initially declined, then reviewed a second time in August and declined again.

Tiffany Masunaga, who was arrested with Ahn on Thursday, was also charged with the same offenses as Ahn. She remained in custody early Saturday afternoon in lieu of $40,000 bail.

According to arrest records, Masunaga lives at the house that was raided, while Ahn lives in an Ala Moana area condo.

Police have also opened an administrative investigation in connection with Ahn’s latest arrest.
